Working Principle


1. Material Preparation

  • The process begins with the preparation of the raw material, typically in the form of round bars or wires, which are fed into the machine.

  • Material selection depends on the application but commonly includes carbon steel, alloy steel, stainless steel, and other metals suitable for cold forming.

2. 30° Inclined Feeding System

  • The 30° inclined feeding mechanism is designed to guide the material smoothly into the thread rolling dies.

  • This angle facilitates better alignment of the workpiece with the dies, reducing mechanical stress and vibration during the feeding process.

  • The inclined design also helps in maintaining consistent pressure distribution across the workpiece, ensuring uniform thread formation.

3. Thread Rolling Process

  • As the material enters the machine, it passes through a set of rotating dies that have the reverse thread profile of the desired thread.

  • These dies apply high pressure to the surface of the workpiece as it rolls between them, causing the metal to flow and deform plastically around the die's thread form.

  • Through this process, the external threads are formed on the workpiece without removing any material, resulting in stronger, more durable threads compared to those produced by cutting methods.

4. Precision Control

  • The CTR5 uses CNC (Computer Numerical Control) technology to precisely control the operation parameters such as feed rate, rolling speed, and die positioning.

  • This ensures that each thread is formed accurately according to the specified dimensions and tolerances, providing consistent quality throughout the production run.

5. Output and Quality Assurance

  • After the threading process, the finished parts exit the machine and can be automatically sorted and collected if equipped with automated systems.

  • The cold rolling process not only improves the physical properties of the threads through work hardening but also enhances their surface finish, contributing to longer wear life and improved performance.
