Five-stage Progressive Forming


  • This system employs a sequence of five dies and five corresponding strikes (or strokes) to gradually transform metal wire into the desired final shape.

  • Each stage in the process can be tailored to perform specific operations such as shearing, upsetting, extrusion, punching, trimming, or shaping, allowing for the creation of intricate and precise components.


Customizable Operations


  • The flexibility of this system lies in its ability to adapt each die and blow sequence to meet unique manufacturing requirements. For instance:

    • Cutting/Shearing: Precisely cuts the metal wire to the required length, ensuring uniformity for subsequent stages.

    • Heading/Upsetting: Forms the head of the fastener by compressing or reshaping one end of the blank.

    • Extrusion: Reduces or elongates sections of the workpiece to achieve specific dimensions or profiles.

    • Piercing/Punching: Creates holes, slots, or other internal features within the component.

    • Trimming/Shaping: Refines the final geometry of the part, removing excess material and ensuring dimensional accuracy.



Incremetal Shaping Process


  • Each die and blow combination performs a distinct operation, progressively refining the workpiece. For example:

    • First Die/Blow: Cuts the raw material to the correct length and prepares it for forming.

    • Second Die/Blow: Begins shaping the head or primary form of the component.

    • Third Die/Blow: Adds features such as extruded sections, undercuts, or internal cavities.

    • Fourth Die/Blow: Further refines the shape and adds finer details like threads or grooves.

    • Fifth Die/Blow: Completes the process by trimming excess material and ensuring the final product meets exact specifications.
